Well, I guess this is fate's way of telling me to hurry the fuck up with that new comp I've been planning on getting built, heh. It also explains why the hell my old comp had been freezing randomly for the past several months - the motherboard had fried. Luckily, anything I wanted to keep and/or couldn't replace is safely on a USB stick I bought at Wal-Mart, and I'm using a comp I got on loan from my neighbor who was trying to find a new motherboard for the old one. But, apparently the old motherboard was of a really outdated model, and finding a replacement would a needle-in-haystack situation, so I told him to forget it since I'm working on getting a new one anyway (which he's also helping me with).
So, I'd been going slightly crazy for 2 weeks, as it's been years since I've been w/o SOME way to get online. This comp may be a tad slow, but it gets the job done, obviously.
In some better news, I went to GameStop to look at the PS3, and decided it was actually more worth it to me to buy a PS2. Thank lack of backwards compatibility. Even if I'd gotten one with backwards compatibility with PS2 games, it neglected to mention PS1 games at all - which is bad since there's a shitload of PS1 and PS2 games I haden't played or beaten yet. So I said fuck it, and went with the personally better choice. If I want a PS3 later, I won't have to worry about getting a backwards-compatible one anymore.
So now, I'm going to play aaaaaaaaaaaaaaalllll the games I've either never beaten or never got my hands on. Good thing they're all nice & cheap now........well, most of em, at least.
